I love WEDDINGS (like you didn't know) and with wedding season in full force, today's post only makes sense. This beauty comes to us from the crafty hands of my awesome co-worker Erin! She and her fiancé Tanner, are getting married this July, here in Washington. Erin created this complete invitation suite by hand, with a light box, a pointed calligraphy nib, and lots of sheets of paper. The calligraphy on all of their envelopes was also done by her. My favorite part about these invitations is the story behind the stamps. They are from the collection Erin and her mom gathered, while she was growing up. HEART-->MELTED

Wedding Invitations | Rustic Romance

One of my best friends is getting married in two weeks! I am so excited to be a part of her special day, it's going to be awesome! A couple of months back Sue, Sumi (her sweet sister) and myself had a craft day; we were putting together wedding invitations. I mean, come on, craft day + wedding + friends = a good time!

Sue designed and printed the invites, Sumi and I helped cut them out and assemble! With the help of cookies of coffee =]

A few of MY favorite things

A combination of my love for dinner and cake, a good animal print and a strong drink, and of course my sweet hubby =].

Last year a great friend of ours took us to dinner at LUC in Madison Park. And for that, we thank you  Akida! I can't say enough good things about that place. Whenever we get a chance, we make sure to stop by. This is our latest visit, a couple of weeks ago.

I also had a giant pork chop, but was too busy eating to take a picture =]=]=].

Wax Pouring Chicks | for the love of candles

M: What sizes are the candles available in?
V: We have two sizes medium and grand that can be used for décor and we have favours in two sizes of petite and tall.

M: What are the different messages/labels you have available?
V: We have our standard labels of LOVE, HOPE, BABY, HOME, BATH and we also personalize candles to suit the individual. 

M: How can the candles be ordered and where can people find out more about your shop?

Our Wedding on The Knot | Happy Dance

So this happened yesterday...
Our sweet, dear, amazing wedding photographer (I really can't say enough about how great she is) Arlene submitted our wedding to The Knot a few months back. I remember her saying we'll hear soon if it's a go and then I kind of forgot about it until... yesterday! I was stalking people on FB as usual when she tagged me in the best post of my life!!! HAHAHA I know it sounds a little dramatic, but I felt like I won an award HAHA! I put so much time and effort into all the details and into picking out just the right vendors that this really means so much more to me than anyone would know!

You can find the feature here. The is a small vendors list at the top of it, if you are interested in any of our other vendors just shoot me an email. Also here is my one advise on wedding planning, pick the right people and let them take care of it all. Weddings can be done on a budget and you don't have to go breaking the back just to get married. I promise there are still honest and reasonable vendors out there =]!

Fabulous DIY | Beaded Jersey Flowers

Darlings another fun crafting day is here and it's a good one. I'm showing you how I made these FAB jersey knit flowers, embellished with some beautiful pearls and crystals. I made these a few months back for Lindsey's baby shower as favors and the girls loved them! I'm also trying a different approach today. I tend to like blogs and posts, which have more pictures rather than descriptions. Here is my take on " A picture is worth a thousand words" =]

Supplies
an old t-shirt or some jersey knit fabric
pearls and glass bead in various sizes
thin elastic band
needle and thread
hot glue and gun
small piece of felt
scissors

And there you have it, a lovely little headband. These can also be made in to hair pins, or even brooches. A little sewing tip if you want to achieve the same star/crown shape with your beads. After you are done sewing all of the beads in place, simply wrap your thread around all of the beads once or twice to pull them together. I did this both with the big and small flower.

DIY | floral hair pins

You may have noticed by now that I have a thing for silk flowers. They are such a great base to start if you want to make your own little floral creations. After making countless flower for sashes, baby shoes, headband and what have you, I had a bit of random petals left over. And since I hate having anything go to waste, I made some super easy hair pins.

What you need to make one of these:

2-3 petal rounds from a fabric flower [store bought or stolen from your grandma],
needle and thread, a button, a bobby pin, small piece of felt, hot glue and gun.

How to put it together:

• Stack petal rounds and stitch through all layers 2-3 times.

• Set button on top of petals and sew through the holes. I did a cross stitch.

• Cut out a half inch circle of felt [or adjust size to fit your flower].

• Make 2 small parallel slits in the middle of the circle.

• "Weave" the top "rod" of the bobby pin through.

• Add hot glue to felt circle and glue to bottom of flower [you need enough glue to cover it, but not so much that it seeps out when you press it up against the flower].
• Let hot glue cool.

TA-DA! You've got yourself some new hair accessories! A big "¡Gracias!" to my beautiful

Christmas Card | Freebie

So it's barely even October and Christmas decorations are slowly popping up all over the place here. And I LOVE IT! This year I've made a few different Christmas cards to send out and here is one for you to enjoy =]

If you do not have Photoshop, or don't know how to use it, I have something for you too. This is a JPEG file, to which you can add your picture, using PicMonkey. All you need to do is upload the file to their website, along with the picture you want to use and re-size it to fit the white square. From there it's save, print and there you have it.

The Cowl Shawl | Crocheted

Today's post may seem familiar to you and it should. Last week I shared a smaller version of this 'Cowl Shawl' and today we're talking big.

I call it a shawl rather than a scarf because it can be pulled over the shoulders and also even doubled around the neck. I've also added two buttons to this one for more versatility. Below are the instructions and my sketch, which I used as a guide:

Chain 150 and join with a SL ST to make a ring.

DC all the way around into the ring.

End each row with a SL ST and start the new row with CH 3 [this counts as 1 DC].

You need a total of 41 rows.

This is the order I have my colors in [top to bottom]:

1 row SC GREEN | 3 rows DC GREEN

4 rows DC BROWN | 8 rows DC YELLOW | 4 rows DC BROWN

3 rows DC GREEN
4 rows DC BROWN | 8 rows DC YELLOW | 4 rows DC BROWN
3 rows DC GREEN | 1 row SC GREEN

I've added an extra rim with single crochets onto the first and last row for a more finished look.

I ended up using about two balls of each color yarn.

I also used little markers at the end of each row, there were some boo-boos when I didn't.

It is super comfy, cozy and really kind of a statement piece. This is also just one of the ways it can be worn; Adding buttons let's you wear it a different way every time.

freebie // wrap address label

 You guys! Hi! I've been wanting to share with you another label and I'm finally doing it. This one is hot off of Photoshop =] haven't even had time to print it yet.

This is another wrap around address label. It measures 7.25" x 2", similar to the wedding one. There are two versions of today's freebie. They both also come in teal and pink. Of course, when you send them out the address part will be hand written, but you get the point.
