Wax Pouring Chicks | for the love of candles

*This is not a sponsored post, I simply find joy in helping others. All opinions are my own.

Let's talk about the friends we make when we least expect, shall we?! This past December, Brian and I went to Cabo and we met some amazing people! Since then we've kept in touch and still reminisce about those sunny, lazy days spent by the pool, drink in hand. One of these people is Vanessa, from Australia! She recently joined her sister-in-law's business and today she is sharing her love of candles and how you can get your hands on one. Their candles are gorgeous and with plenty of scents to choose from!

Here is a little Q&A with her-

M: Tell me about your brand!
V: My sister in law Cveta created Wax Pouring Chicks last year with her sister and since then I have come on board to manage the business which is blooming, hence why we together are the ‘Wax Pouring Chicks'.
M: What sizes are the candles available in?
V: We have two sizes medium and grand that can be used for décor and we have favours in two sizes of petite and tall.
M: What are the different messages/labels you have available?
V: We have our standard labels of LOVE, HOPE, BABY, HOME, BATH and we also personalize candles to suit the individual.
M: How can the candles be ordered and where can people find out more about your shop?
V: Anyone interested in our candles can follow us on instagram @waxpouringchicks, email us info@waxpouringchicks.com, or like us on Facebook at Wax Pouring Chicks. Payments can be made via PayPal; all prices are in Australian dollars.
M: Do you ship to the US?
V: We ship worldwide.

I was also told that the pictures below were taken at the wedding of a famous Australian (...wait for it...) footballer celebrity!!!

Spinach | Mango | Ginger Smoothie with Vanilla Protein

So, there's a bridesmaid dress I need to look fab in this May. I'm doing all I can with hot yoga and eating better, but I have to say my favorite meal of the day is breakfast. Every morning I have myself a smoothie and I'm ready for the day. This one is the bomb.com!!! It is so smooth and creamy and fresh and just WOW! Protein and fiber packed, and very filling.

Spinach | Mango | Ginger Smoothie with Vanilla Protein
makes about four 8oz cups @ 75cals per cup

4 cups spinach
1 cup mango [frozen or fresh]
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1/3 cup water
1" piece ginger [peeled]
1 scoop vanilla protein
1-2 tsp flax seeds

Add all ingredients to a blender and BLEND, not pulse, for 2-3 minutes. It comes out creamy and amazing! Make it.

Happy Friday Dolls!

Spinach Ice Cubes | Healthy Kick

I've really been enjoying my morning smoothies. Problem is, by the time I use up all of my spinach, it wilts and gets a little...gross. I needed a way to have it last a little longer. I while back I saw someone had done this on pinterest and I gave it a try. It's super easy and you end up with a ton of spinach/kale/greens cubes.

Just fill up a blender half way with fresh spinach [pack it in there] and add 1/2 cup of water. Blend until smooth. Poor the liquid in your ice cube tray and stick it in the freezer until it solidifies. Then, pop them out and store them in a plastic freezer bag. I had to do this in batches because I had a giant bag of spinach and only one ice cube tray...

These work great for me in smoothies and soups.

Happy Wednesday Afternoon Guys!

Creative Wrapping + Gifts

Let's just say I hate throwing things out. Now I promise these are not first signs of hoarding [said every pack rat ever] but I love reusing everyday items for crafts. This is how I wrapped Brian's Valentine's Day gift, using butcher paper, tissue paper, washi tape & some twine.

I used a small punch to cut out tiny hearts for extra embellishment. I tied the twine in two spot to hold the card in place. Check out the card I made HERE.

This Vday was all about handmade gifts. What I made was inspired by this gift my friend Tara gave me for Christmas, from KeepCalmAndHangOn. It's spells out AMORE when you put your wedding ring in the middle where the "O" goes. All their frames are amazing, but for Brian I needed something...manlier! HAHA I used a frame I got at Michaels on sale, some gray paper, wood letter tiles, a small screw on hook, and glue. I distressed the frame a bit with sand paper, stuck the letters on and attached the hook. Super easy and it spells out his favorite word, zombie =]

Happy Monday Guys!

Happy Birthday Mommy & Vanilla Protein | Oat | Berry | Muffins

Today is a great day. It's my sweet mommy's 50th birthday! Brian and I are headed down to my parents house in a bit to celebrate and spend some time with them. This is us, about 27 years ago.

Now, here are some awesome muffins. Protein packed [10gr|ea], sans flour & super tasty! I made these in my little ramekins, but you can also use a muffin pan. These are seriously good and make a great breakfast, or snack.

Sueyeon & Alex | Save The Date

You may recall this lovely couple from my Instagram. They are both dear friends of mine and I cannot be happier to be a part of their May wedding. These two met on my 25th birthday and have been together ever since =]. Sue is a girl after my own heart; an interior designer, super crafty & creative, and has the biggest heart. We met at what we refer to as "the worse job we've ever had" =] and became instant friends. Alex, I've known since the fifth grade and we've always kept in touch.

Today, for inspiration, I'm sharing their Save The Date. Sue designed it herself and had the lot printed at Overnight Prints. The place offers an UV Gloss option, which she added to the text on the front and their names and date on the back. They sent them out as post cards in the mail. The cards were designed in Illustrator and measure at 5.5"X4.24" [with a 0.0635" bleed].
